According to Pierre Perron, head of Sony Mobile Europe, the manufacturer is talking to Microsoft about some unnamed project. This dovetails perfectly with speculation that Sony will be rolling out a pair of Windows Phone flavored handsets this coming July. Actually, Sony Ericsson and Microsoft did team up on older models, such as the originalSony Xperia X1. The device with the panel based interface, was powered by Windows Mobile Professional 6.1.

Instead, Japanese manufacturer Sony has surpassed Apple to become the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the country. Sony has been able to leap over the producer of the iPhone, by concentrating on low priced handsets in the range of 10,000 ($166 USD) Rs to 20,000 Rs. ($333 USD). A 300 Crore ($65 million) marketing campaign also helped.

Sony Xperia Z2 is coming to North America in May
The Sony Xperia Z2 is coming to North America in May. That news comes directly from Sony, as the Japanese carrier announced that its flagship phone will be an exclusive in Canada for Bell. Waterproof and dustproof, the device has all of the specs that you would expect from a top-shelf model. That includes a 5.2 inch 1020 x 1920 resolution Triluminos display, a quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage. Back and front facing cameras weigh in at 20.7MP and 2.2MP respectively. A 3200mAh battery keeps the lights on and Android 4.4 is pre-installed. Those who purchase the phone from Bell will have access to six blockbuster movies from Sony Pictures, includingCaptain Phillips, through the Video Unlimited service. Buyers will receive a 30-day free trial of the Music Unlimited service, and eight PlayStation Mobile games.
