According to notorious tipster @eveleaks, Nokia has a smorgasbord of handsets coming down the pipeline. Queue the Nokia Ara, Leo, Moonraker, Onyx, Peridot, Superman, Tesla, and Vantage codenames.

The Finnish phone maker is in the final stages of its acquisition deal with Microsoft, and one would think that Nokia will slow down until the software giant is mulling the next steps for its Windows Phones, like the eventual rebranding that will follow, for example. Thus, it's not entirely clear if those eight upcoming handsets will be from the Asha and featurephone line that will keep carrying the Nokia logo, from the Lumia line that will eventually be renamed by Microsoft, or a mixture of both, which might have been in the planning before the acquisition. In any case, we are to expect plenty of handsets from the Finns further down the line, and, hopefully, Microsoft will announce soon what are its plans for the homebrew Windows Phone portfolio.

is the Nokia Lumia 635 for T-Mobile?

is the Nokia Lumia 635 for T-Mobile?

As March was coming to an end, a tweet from evleaks revealed a new handset coming to T-Mobile, called the Nokia Monarch. With a royal name like that, we theorized that this would be a high-end Windows Phone model. But a new tweet from the master leaker reveals that the Nokia Monarch is actually the Nokia Lumia 635.

The Nokia Lumia 635 is an entry-level model that will also be available from AT&T and T-Mobile's pre-paid house, MetroPCS. With a 4.5 inch LCD screen offering 480 x 854 resolution, the Nokia Lumia 635 Monarch is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU. 512MB of RAM is inside, along with 8GB of native storage. Thankfully, the microSD slot on the phone has a 128GB capacity. A 5MP front-facing snapper with an f/2.4 aperture is included, and an 1830mAh cell keeps the lights on.

U.S. carriers are beginning to brand Nokia's new handsets with names instead of numbers. Verizon named the Nokia Lumia 929 the Nokia Lumia Icon and now we have the Nokia Monarch. T-Mobile has big plans for the new handset, with expectations that the device could outsell the Nokia Lumia 521. That model is the T-Mobile branded version of the Nokia Lumia 520, the largest selling Windows Phone model of all time.
