The update that Spotify sent out for its Windows Phone app in February 2015 will be that app's final update. The music streamer has decided that it no longer is worth it to add the newest features for the small number of Windows Phone users. Yes, that hardy bunch will still have access to the app, but it will continue to fall behind the capabilities of the iOS and Android versions of Spotify.

When the DOJ filled its response on Thursday to Apple's latest brief, it took a harsher tone than it had previously. The government threatened to take the entire source code to iOS and the "private electronic signature" that is required for access to the code. With those two items, the government will be able to build its own Govt.OS and unlock the Apple iPhone 5c that was used by deceased terrorist Syed Farook.

It is no secret that tablet sales have been declining, including sales of the Apple iPad. Some would suggest that weak iPad sales are the result of Apple's decision to sell the 5.5-inch Apple iPhone 6 Plus. During its fiscal third quarter, Apple sold 10.9 million iPads, a decline of 18% year-over-year. Apple might try to stem the tide by offering a 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro. The long awaited tablet is said to be focused on the enterprise and education markets.

Earlier this year, it seemed that Samsung had wrapped up the annual contest to decide who will provide Apple with the chips for the next iteration of the iPhone. In fact, just a few weeks ago, there was talk thatSamsung had already started delivering 14nm A9 samples to Apple. And Sammy's perennial rival for the business, TSMC, will only be able to cut its 16nm wafers in any quantity starting in the second quarter of 2015. Using the 14nm process will allow Samsung to make the A9 chip 20% more powerful, while consuming 35% less battery life than the A8.
