Google has a clear vision for what it wants with Android Wear, and it is being very very clear in its message to developers on this point. The first round of Android wearables are not aiming to be complete smartwatches in the sense that many would hope they would be. Rather, these are planned to be companion devices which are mainly used for notifications, and don't really offer much as far as advanced functionality.

Samsung announced on Tuesday, that it expects to report its second consecutive quarter with a decline in operating profit. For the three months ended March 31st, the Korean company is expected to report that Q1 operating profits declined in a range of 2.1% to 6.6% from a year earlier. For the prior three month period, the Korean tech firm announced a 6% drop in operating profits. That was the first year-over-year decline in Samsung's operating profits in two years. Analysts blame the lower earnings on the competition in the smartphone market that has dropped the average price for Samsung's smartphones.

Last year, C Spire customers had to wait more than two months for the Samsung Galaxy S4. But this year, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be offered by the carrier some time in May. The Korean manufacturer's new flagship handset will be released April 11th in most major global markets. That means that C Spire customers could have the Galaxy S5 in hand less than a month after it's been released for the major U.S. operators.
