If you spend any amount of time on the internet, you have very likely heard about a flaw in the OpenSSL project where a vulnerability has been discovered that pretty much renders the whole secure layer impotent. It is being referred to as “Heartbleed.”

A number of web-sites have been quietly updating their protocols while others have been noting the flaw does not affect their services. The good news is a lot of enterprise level services, along with Apple, BlackBerry, and Microsoft are not affected by Heartbleed.

A couple months ago at Mobile World Congress, WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum announced that the popular messaging app would be adding voice calling to its feature list. The assumption has been that the service would be similar to Skype or Facebook Messenger, but there has been no word on when the feature would be added. Some new clues are making it look like voice calls may be on the way pretty soon, though.

Google has a clear vision for what it wants with Android Wear, and it is being very very clear in its message to developers on this point. The first round of Android wearables are not aiming to be complete smartwatches in the sense that many would hope they would be. Rather, these are planned to be companion devices which are mainly used for notifications, and don't really offer much as far as advanced functionality.
